Not technically an error, but immediately redunant (indicated by my italics):

p. 377:

‚* Step One Frame Forward/Step One Frame Back: The Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys move the playhead back and forth one frame at a time, while Shift-Left Arrow and Shift-Right Arrow move the playhead in one-second increments.

‚* Step One Second Forward/Step One Second Reverse: Shift-Left Arrow and Shift-Right Arrow moves the playhead back and forth one second at a time.

Also on p. 377, this is clumsy wording:

Previous Keyframe/Next Keyframe: Shift-Semicolon moves the playhead to the next previous keyframe on the left when keyframes are displayed in the Timeline, while Shift-Apostrophe moves the playhead to the next keyframe to the right.

Better would be:

Previous Keyframe/Next Keyframe: Shift-Semicolon moves the playhead to the previous keyframe (to the left when keyframes are displayed in the Timeline), while Shift-Apostrophe moves the playhead to the next keyframe to the right.

p. 379: Play to Out: Option-Command-Option-Forward Slash (/). Initiates playback and stops at
the current Out point.

I'm pretty sure this should be described as either Option-Command-Forward Slash or Command-Option-Forward-Slash. There is no Option-Command-Option key combination.

The Guides section (pg 962) is not accurate for version 15.2.2 on Windows. Nothing happens when right clicking on a Viewer.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

On page 2079, the manual claims:

Code: Select all
Right-click the clip thumbnail, Gallery still, or memory you want to copy the grade from, and choose Apply Grade from the contextual menu.
The grade of the clip you middle-clicked is copied to the previously selected clip or clips.

This is correct when the Clip node tree is selected in the Nodes view. If Group Pre-Clip or Group Post-Clip is selected, then Apply Grade has no effect. I suggest that Apply Grade should be grayed out of the menu in those circumstances. But the manual could also be corrected so that it's clear when the Apply Grade function does or does not have any effect.

Main problem with the user guide for Ver 15 is...

Don't know where to find it / download it.

Didn't come bundled in the Resolve download...

Don't see a link to it on the Resolve page here: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/produc ... ciresolve/

Don't see it linked to anywhere in the support center...

Couldn't find it by just googling for it...

Did you take it down while you correct the errors???

It's in the DaVinci Resolve Support area of the web site, where it always is:

https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/ ... Manual.pdf

It is included with each Resolve release. Select the Resolve Help menu, then select the "DaVinci Resolve Reference Manual" selection to access.

Thank you.

I spent about 20 minutes looking for it before giving up, so your link is VERY helpful.

Never realized it is also accessible from within resolve help menu either.

p. 653 Using Fusion Connect - 2 Right-click one of the selected clips and choose New Fusion Connect Clip from the contextual menu.

- This seems to be an outdated/renamed function... in Resolve I see the options;

New Compound Clip...
New Fusion Clip...
New VFX Connect clip...

As a new user this is very confusing. The manual is 6 months old, yet the software was updated just a few weeks ago... can I suggest some sort of rolling edit system so that at the very least the manual hosted at your website (which is rather hard to find btw) is always up-to-date. There are many many edits already listed on this thread that have not yet been changed in the latest (August 2018) manual.

Scene Split:
P292 refers to a "Plus" button which should be "Add" I think.

Page 361 - Duplicating a Timeline

"Right-click any timeline in the Media Pool, and choose Timelines>Duplicate Timeline from the contextual menu."

Pretty sure this method changed on a previous update, as that option doesn't appear anymore with a right click.

On page 611, in the discussion of the Inspector, there's this tantalizing promise:

Cropping

The Edit page has an additional set of cropping parameters:
‚ Crop Left, Right, Top, and Bottom: Lets you cut off, in pixels, the four sides of the image. Cropping a clip creates transparency, so that whatever is underneath shows through.

Alas, whatever transparency may be created as far as the Edit Window is concerned, what this does not do is to create any sort of mask or alpha information that can be used in the Color window. It would be very nice if, when cutting off pixels, the alpha channel would reflect what pixels were cut off (or not).

Hello Everyone,

The errors are highlighted in the attachment and the text here after shows what I believe it should be.

Page 2135 (see attachment highlight)

Outside nodes is inverting the key that node 6 is feeding to node 4
Outside node is inverting the key that node 6 is feeding to node 5

Page 2135 (see attachment highlight) Correct me if I am seeing it incorrectly

One thing. Doesn't node 6 key output need to be connected to node 4 key input for this to work?
I think there is a bug with the key out technique used here. Version 15.2.3
Cannot get it to work.

and click the key input invert so that node 5's key is identical to the node 6's key

My suggestion would be to also specify which of Node 6's key should it be identical to, there is key out and also key in.

So I would have it read:

Double click node 5 to select it, open the key palette, and click the key input invert so that node 5's key input is identical to the node 6's key output. This avoids the key out from node 6 being inverted on arrival on the node 5's key input, which would in essence nullify the effect.

The idea is to have the receiving key node input match the key node output thereby allowing for the effect we spoke of above.

Kind regards,
Robert

Page 561 To Add Keyframes to the Level Curve
The Manual says hold the Option Key and Click on the Audio curve to place a keyframe.
This does not work in the EDIT page although it does work in the FAIRLIGHT page.

Page 561 To Adjust any Keyframe
The Manual says that once you start dragging in a particular direction
the movement os constrained to that direction.
This does not happen either on the EDIT page or the FAIRLIGHT page.

The Manual als repeats this wrong description word for word on Page 2432.

EDIT
I have just discovered that if you hold down the Shift Key, then it is possible to adjust the Keyframes in a constrained way as described in the manual. However the manual does not mention the use of the Shift Key.

Page 157 Useing the Smart or User Caches ...

The Manual says " manually flag for Caching by right clicking and enabling the Render Cache Clip Output Option".
This option does not exist, it is only possible to 'Render Cache Fusion Output' or 'Render Cache Colour Output'.
It is therefore not possible to render a performance intensive effect such as a large Clip Speed Change so it will play in real time.

Page 161 Sequence Caching

The Manual states that 'In Smart Mode, Resolve automatically caches .....any clips with opacity or speed effects'
This does not happen when speed effects are applied to a clip.
