Interlacing in OBS

PostMon Jan 14, 2019 9:12 pm

Just got my Blackmagic Decklink Duo 2 setup. Everything looks great in Express but when I try to bring it in to OBS suddenly there's interlacing.

the Decklink Video Setup is set to:
Y, Cb, CR422
1080 P Progressive.

In OBS I'm bringing it in as a 'Blackmagic Device' (not video capture)
mode: auto
YUC: Default
Channel: 2ch

If I take it off Auto, it just goes to black no matter what resolution I set.

help? thanks

EDIT: I was able to track part of this down to the camera which has a setting for 1080i or 720p. In 720p everything is fine.

Is there a way to input at 1080i and convert it to 1080p for OBS? All my attempts to do that still show up with interlacing.

OBS does have various de-interlacing settings that can be applied to the video source: ... ons.62976/

Some of the de-interlacing algorithms are more resource intensive than others.

Note that if your target is 1080p30 video, the best option may be to see if it's possible to set the camera to record in this mode. If it's possible to set the camera to capture in 1080p30, then even though it may still output 1080i over its SDI port, each of the alternating interlaced fields will be from the same moment in time. So you can use one of the simple de-interlacing approaches that just combines the fields into a single frame.
