Resolve 16 so far running very well on my machine and the cut view is really great, but I have a few very minor issues:
1) Database import of my backup was fine, but when I opened a project, all of my Text+ clips were shown in a "Media Offline" state. I could select them and edit them in the inspector, they just wouldn't display in the viewer. The workaround I found was to select one, copy it, move the play head to the beginning of that text+ clip, and then paste it back on top of itself (replacing the copy on the timeline with the clipboard copy). Then the text reappeared in the viewer. I had to do this for every Text+ object in the timeline. No big deal for me since the project was small. Saving the project, closing it, and then re-opening it worked correctly and I only had to do the copy/past thing on every text+ object one time per project.
2) If I leave the windows taskbar displayed, the ribbon at the bottom with the various view selectors winds up on top of some of the controls, at least on the color view and there's no v-scroll to adjust the view. However, if I hide the windows taskbar, all views display properly.
Item 2 Update 4/18/2019: I learned that, under the workspace menu, I can turn off the navigation bar. When I do that, the views all work properly with the windows 10 task bar. However, if I turn the navigation bar back on, I have to switch windows task bar back to hide because the navigation bar will cover the controls on the bottom of the view.
3) I am getting a static noise in my monitor speaker every time I adjust any control. I just built my system last week, and did a clean install of windows and all drivers are up to date. Each increment of every control makes a low, but audible static sound. It's more of a minor annoyance than a real problem.
Item 3 Update 4/18/2019: This problem turned out to be ground loop noise in my audio channels on my PC likely from increased power usage by the GPU from Resolve 16's increased usage of the graphics card. The noise problem was solved by installing an audio isolator.
4) Just about every Fairlight effect that I've tried cuts off the bottom portion of the view when I pop it out into its own window, leaving many controls near the bottom of the window inaccessible. The window sizes are not adjustable and there are no vscroll bars to move the view to bring the obstructed controls into view. However, the copy of the effect in the inspector is fine, so I can make the adjustments there and see the result in the effect's window.
5) Fairlight Equalizer has an issue where if I put the #1 adjustment circle exactly on the center line, the eq acts as if I turned it off. If I Move it even the slightest amount off the center line, the eq curve is applied correctly. I did not notice this behavior when moving the #2, #3, and #4 adjustment circles.
So far, version 16 seems to be working very well for me. I have not had any of the GPU memory full issues reported by other users. I will update this post if I run into any more bugs.
