Resolve has a batch render queue on the deliver page but you need to add each timeline one at a time with the appropriate render settings.

i'd like some added feature to this as well. a way to add multiple timelines with the same render settings, they could take over the in-out points selected in your edit.

or when you change your mind about some render settings, a way to copy those settings to the rest in your batch as well.

This. Being able to export to a batch processor and still have access to the App.

The [modifier+printerlights] behaviour should work always, regardless if you're with the keyboard, the big panel or clicking in the offset gui with the mouse.

- A smaller size of the UI. Everything is really big and bulky. I'm always struggling with the space on my monitors...

- And dual screen, not full screen, would be SO nice.

Both of these, so much...

I don't mind not being able to render timelines while using the app (queue up and render while asleep, out to dinner, etc.), but I really dislike the inability to do things like Transcode or Optimize media in the background.

color page, the ability to resize down or up the wheel/shape/keyframe gui tab. at the moment it's about 1/3 of the screen and i want to make it smaller when I'm coloring (I have a panel, not clicking with mouse) and bigger when i want to do some curves or if I need the mouse on it.

in the gui, both in color and edit page, the scale for the viewer has a "fit" shortcut, it should also have a "fill" one to fill the current size of the gui monitor preview.

I'd love the "remix" feature similar to audition

And an easier UI similar to Premiere's essential sound (especially for ducking - I know we have side chain etc but premiere's is way more streamlined imo)

I don't like the flexibility of the panel and dual monitors setup. I have 3 monitors and premiere pro works amazing with the three. Two for edits and a 4K one for previewing. Introduce more flexibility in the panel configuration.

Have an option to view all sound files in Fairlight along with a search for specific prefixes.

When using the "Cleanup node graph" and having layer mixers avoid putting the uppermost node at the bottom and viceversa getting crossing lines and unexpected positioning.

Hope it was clear.

These are all related to the Edit Page.

Better keyframe control
We need a similar panel featured in the Color Page for keyframe adjustments. Personally I hate adjusting things within clips on the timeline. A dedicated panel is so much better.

Easing controls for Position changes
This is poorly implemented and hard to get working. It would also be great to have a large speed graph editor, like in After Effects.

Gang and stretch multiple timeline clips
Perhaps an edge case feature, but I was recently building out an animatic cut to the beat, and was needing something like this to equalise shots within a specific timeframe. Could work by selecting some shots and holding a modifier key while dragging the edge of the outward facing clip.

Mini timeline in Edit Page
This feature from the Cut Page in 16 would also be really useful on the main Edit Page.

Viewport Rulers & Guides
Would be handy for lining things up.

Hot key for Safe Area / Guides
Currently you have to go to Top Bar Menu > View > Safe Area > On

New Monitor Panel Contextual Menu
Maybe there could be another contextual menu bottom right of the Monitor viewport for things like; Safe Area, Show Rulers, Show Guides, Show Subtitles, Show Markers, etc.

It looks like Apple have recently relaxed their licence terms as Adobe products now support ProRes on Windows.

I want new way to edit multicam clips. As a long time user of Edius NLE i find that Edius have best multicam system. In Edius just hit F8 and you can edit clips on timeline. You dont need to create multicam timeline or something. Just edit your clips on timeline and see all your clips and not only one multicam timeline. That is very important when you have a lot of short clips and you dont see when clips start because you see only one multicam timeline and not all your tracks. Just check how is done in Edius which many say has the best multicam solution.

Indicators are things like only being able to cast shadows with spotlights. No global illumination. No ray tracing. Lack of accurate refraction/transparency/reflections. No meaningful grouping and parenting tools.

Fusion's text tools, both 3D and 2D, are also years behind. No kerning and layout controls. No per-character animation and settings. The 3D extrusion and beveling is even kind of janky.

Please we have to send multiple episodes so we create multiple timelines and these have to be manually put to render queue, even we have separate rendering system, still. This feature would greatly help.

Solo selected clips in timeline

regardless of track

Select one or more clip(s) and like option+s in FCPX - only they are audible.

to get back on this, i think you can just create a new timeline and add every timeline as a compound clip in it, and render everything as individual clips. for in-out actions you can just trim the compound clip. not totally sure if its gonna work though. it just requires on step more.

Previously used Premiere. Contour shuttle doesnt work in resolve contour costs <$200 new davinci keyboard with shuttle wheel about $1000 not too bad but still expensive. Get a set of control wheels for color grading $1000 to $3000 still doable. What if I want to remote control Fairlight with hardware then get ready to pay 20K for sliders and 20K for a controller.. because resolve wont be recognized by Mackie, Behiringer etc. How about opening it up and or coming out with a system of outboard controllers that is competitively priced!!!

The DaVinci Resolve 15 Configuration Guide lists Mackie MCU Pro and Behringer X-Touch. But not sure if they're active on any other page than Fairlight, and not all controls will be mapped.

Davinci Resolve is defenetly going for expansion of editing tools. Cut page is a big step in that direction. If new tools really developing based on time consumption of editor, the most awating feature for me is "favorites/rejected" like in FCPX. It is huge timesaver and workflow enhancer. In the first stage of sorting Sources editors usually adding in/out and drop segments to timeline and when sorting is done, editor move those clips in the timeline - big mess! It is not efficient and not streamlined. In case if converting in/outs to Favorites (No subclips! No duration markers!) and the filter them in a Bin allows editor to start clean timeline with fully sorted Sources, without messing up timeline before. Every clip with Favorite segment in it shows as "subclip" in a bin but without actually creation of one. This is, in my opinion, is super addition to Cut page features. So, please, make similiar to FCPX segmenting workflow and I am 100% in Resolve from that moment.

1. Fairlight already works with Mackie and Behringer controllers, in fact anything that supports MCU or HUI.

2. Your prices are grossly overstated, and since buying Fairlight BMD have made significant price reductions to be competitive. Contact a dealer if you want a real quote.

Agree. If you have a lot of sound effects from different places with similar names, it's really a mess trying to find a specific one. Adding Labels to specific Libraries you add (i.e. Folders) and allowing the search to indicate which library a sound is from would be much appreciated.

Creating sub categories based on the folder structure (the way Bins automatically create themselves when dragging folders to the media pool) would be even better.

Hi,

Would love to see the automate to sequence function from premiere in resolve. Here is a video of how it works and I love it:

here is something I posted into the feature request list 16 but I guess it is more appropriate here:

I was just thinking how much I miss the old storyboard function from Fast Media AG. Liquid (aka pinnacle liquid, aka Avid Liquid). Avid media composer has it now for awhile called storyboard editing and
Premiere Pro has it now as well since the last update. Storyboarding allows you to freely drag and drop clips on a sort of desktop to roughly sketch a narrative together (imagine how useful this can be for documentaries). I would love seeing this in Resolve as well.

Audio Driven Actions

I see this as several features that could be enabled by a common architecture / library / system.

The high level goal is that as a users I can have some control over how audio in (for instance, compressor thresholds in audio ducking), and then use that to control edits or parameters in Resolve and Fusion.

Use Cases:
Podcasting
In a multi-camera, multi-microphone interview situations. When host starts speaking, cut to the host's camera. When Guest 1 starts speaking, cut to Guest 1's camera, When Guest 2 starts speaking, cut to Guest 2's camera, when multiple people are speaking, cut to the wide angle shot.

The user can have the system commit the audio analysis to the edit timeline and then manually make adjustments as necessary.

Cut on the Beat
I saw two other users request this. I think it can work within this same framework. Automatically generate markers on the beat of a music track (threshold definable). There's probably other more creative ways to implements this.

Beat detection and frequency analysis for fusion effects
Make stuff that is reactive to music, think itunes visualizations.

Thank you for considering this feature!

in the creation of a smart filter in the color page, I would like to see more granularity: I cannot (for instance) select all the clips that have a shape in any of the nodes, or clips that have a LUT applied....

Data burn in:
ISO: %{ISO} -- WB: %{White Point} -- Tint: %{White Balance Tint}

I don't get the tint (always empty, material came from F55 Raw SQ), and I think that if I change the ISO in the raw tab it should change accordingly (now is looked on the camera setting)

Thanks for the chromatic Adaptation ofx!! very appreciated.

Ofx, general, source area of interest. In fusion, you have the ability to limit the region of interest of the source, regardless of the actual plugin result: let’s say that you have 4 lights in the scene and you want to only apply an effect (like an aperture diffraction) to only one light: if you make a matte in resolve ofx to isolate that light, the result of the plugin effect cannot exceed that boundary. We need two way to define a matte/key for some plugins: one for where the sources are and one for where the plugin boundaries is.

ofx, Gaussian blur (any blur really) increase the max limit to 100: there are effects where I need to blur to almost a gray.

ofx, Mosaic blur: can we have different number for Horizontal and vertical?

In OFX. For me, the blend [0-1] is conceptually backward: 100% (1) means full effect, 0% (0) means no effect/original pixel… but it is just me

Color bars and rings GUI, please, enter the second decade of the third millennium: add some digits to the color numbers in the GUI, (four after the dot at least) let us actually change those number (like in the RGB mixer), show them in the panel, set the default saturation at 100% (or 1, don’t care, 50 is…. Old), for me, lift start at 0, gain at 1, gamma at 1 (means not changed, if the value goes to 2.2 for example, you actually added 2.2 gamma to an image, in alternative use the CDL scheme numbers), let the saturation upper limit to be 4x the base value at least.

In all ofx and operators like motion blur, split the blend in the single RGB channel: there are plenty of occasions where we have to resort to a splitter recombiner to do the blend different for each channel. the code is the same: even now you have to blend the r/g/b individual pixel with the original, just at the same ratio. Once you add the sliders (and the gang) you will have three variables instead of one. Two of the most common examples: Real grain is not the same amount in all channels, red is lower, then green then blue. At the moment I cannot elegantly variate per channel. A blend mode with RGB splits will solve. The other one is to remove noise form an image, the opposite problem: the blue channel need more aggressive denoise than the green than the red. A blend split will solve.

Ofx: grid, can we have the size in pixels? At the moment I cannot have the grid of just a pixel width.

Ofx beauty: if you go with negative numbers the results are… weirds.

Ofx Face refinement: unless it is an interview and there is only one face in the screen not moving much, it is, well, useless: the tracking is mostly bad, there is no elegant way to refine it, occlusions are bad, if there are multiple faces on the screen it is arbitrary what happen…

Ofx automatic dust removal: it kills all the grain way before it detects and delete the dust. I can provide a real film scanned clip for testing, PM me.

Ofx dead pixel: points. That allow to make a keyframe, right? But there is no interpolation in-between them. How does it works?

Ofx: patch replacer, the controls guides should scale with the size of the patched: often I have to patch little markers that are few pixels big and the guideline/on screen control gets in the way big time.

OFX glow. I setup in YRGB math the timeline to Alexa logC, in a node I setup the gamma to rec 709 and apply the glow ofx. Changed the spread to 0.1 from the default and I see clipping. Is it intended math/behavior?

Color Space transform ofx and Input Color Space-Gamma in color managed worflow that supports BT. 1886 Gamma.
(The one from red camera doesn't looks like 2.4 or 2.2, in fact both other options are listed in the debayer)

Hi, I love the smart bins feature, it would be great if the 'edit smartbin' window was available as a panel that could stay open rather than having to open it every time.

I also dream of the day multicam clips can maintain more than a single audio track.

My final request would be a spinning wheel or similar icon to show Resolve is processing/thinking such as when importing a project or relinking media, it's just nice to know what is going on. Cheers.

It would be amazing if Resolve had a facial recognition feature so that in the colour page it would be possible to filter clips by face :o . This may be asking too much but DR would be crush the competition with this.

there is a face recognition tool and you can just color code the clips in the media pool (i think)

what I miss is an auto-track like instagram (or whatever app is doing on the phone in realtime...)

chromatic adaptation OFX improvement

you more likely go to linear light to do the math for the kelvin shift, it would be really nice if you add a slider that does stop compensation: from -4 to +4 stops of gain so we can also correct the bad exposure of a clip.

it should be in stops (power of 2) so it is easier to gain or lose a "stop of light" in any direction (gain x 2 or gain / 2in linear light)

output scaling in setting, please add an option : [match video card output] settings.... I very often work on projectors and there is no 2K and 4K DCI options...

Facial recognition will automatically sort clips into smart bins based on assigned name, and the bins are accessible in either edit or color pages. But to select these clips in the timeline, I think you'd need to use some other grouping/sorting feature, as Walter suggests.

OTOH, facial recognition is not working all that well at present.... It tends to get one, and only one, face in a shot.
