I shot an interview with my two BMCCs yesterday... the guy who was going to edit the footage had never worked with a system like the BMCCs before (raw) so he was a little worried when he saw the images we were shooting on the camera's screen... but his opinion on the camera did a complete turn around when we dropped the footage into Resolve. He couldn't stop talking about how beautiful and cinematic the output looked - with the camera's metadata used as exposure/white balance in Resolve.
The final output of the project is 720p... so he can effectively recompose the shot anyway he likes.
We shot the interview in a prominent visual effects company's offices and the camera developed a huge audience while we were setting up
. Everyone was asking questions (very few people in my area have seen a Blackmagic camera).
Apart from the lack of VU meters and general audio issues, the camera is an absolutely amazing piece of equipment. I love it. I love this camera soooo much. It is well worth the wait.
