2x zoom on the BMPCC4k is not enough

I use manual, fast lenses. As such, I need fine grain control over my focus. 2x is not enough zoom to make sure that I'm in focus. The peaking is NOT accurate enough, and 2x does not let me see close enough to judge visually. Panasonic and Canon cameras let me zoom in up to 10x, and I really need that on the BMPCC too.

A better way would be as you double tap for 2x zoom three small buttons appear and you can select 2x 4x 8x and it then remembers your setting.

Or just get a good EVF you can get a zoom in that allows you to really see what you are doing. I did a test, where I zoomed in on a camera EVF, then used a OLED EVF and checked the focus, and I could see what I thought was in sharp focus, was not quite there. If you need to nail an accurate focus pull, then a EVF is the only way to go in my book. A zoom in on a monitor works to a degree, but it’s accuracy depends on the monitor resolution and quality.

I also struggle with only 2x a lot.
If the screen can handle multi touch then just pinching in and out up 10x would be awesome.
If not then what Richard W. said.

Hooray!!!! 8X and through pinch!!!

The new FW 6.6, now out, adds pinch to zoom up to 8X, once set it is available by tapping. However, when camera is powered off and then back focus zoom resets to 2X, but just a simple punch to zoom will reset.

But please let us show the zoom also on connected external monitors, evfs, screens.
This would be very helpful !!!

Also the pinch in is not been stored after powering off/on, it´s reset to 2x.
I never use 2x so its a bit annoying to re-pinch every time.

There is no single right setting for a focus zoom check. In one scene it might be sufficient to use 2x, but in another scene 4x and so on depending upon the object of the focus check.

In my opinion BMD has done a sterling job of implementing the new focus zoom. The request was for options if 2x, 4x, perhaps 8x. BMD had delivered a continuously variable focus zoom control that frees you from thinking of the simple ratios of 2x, 4x, 8x which my not be right for the object of the focus. Just use your fingers and you can select any suitable zoom between 2x and 8x such as 5.2x.

Yes, in real shooting situations you will stay at a magnification because things have to go fast. If you like 2x you will start at next power on with 2x.
Other pinch in to 6x and are comfortable with powering on and have this magnification.

If this is to complicated for some (?) you can put a setting if magnification is stored or not. Or a factor where you want to start (2x,4x,8x etc.).

This is just a simple improvement.

More important would be to send zoom also to the external hdmi device!

Having a setting to retain focus zoom magnification would be useful.

+1 to Ricks suggestion.
After a power recycle the screen zoom defaults back to 2x.
It would be nice if that default screen zoom level could be set.
