Twixtor for Resolve

Hiya,
I just saw that Twixtor now supports Resolve, which it did not the last time I checked.
Anyone else has tried it?

I used Twixtor succesfully in the past, but I also know that Davinci improved their optical flow. Last test I did with Resolve optical flow was far better than previously, but I would think that it is no match for Twixtor.

Anyone with more experience?

It's about the same.

When you know in advance that you want to use this methode, set your shutter angle/time to the targeted desired output fps, otherwise you'll get a lot of artifacts (you also need a lot of light).

Thanks Misha, yea I agree about setting the shutter with this in mind.
Will do some comparions and see, what results I get.

My prefered method would be to get a Phantom, but they are not exactly cheap!

You can always opt for a UMP G2 with a magicbooster (lucadapters speedbooster), it's not Phantom fast but still pretty good (2k a 300fps). You can always upscale the output with a program like topaz gigapixel, it's a lot of work (and compute power) but the results are better than anything we've tried before (we used it for upscaling from SD 50i to Full-HD 50p.)

Both Twixtor and Resolve's own optical flow work much better if you already have some slo-mo from the camera and short exposure times.

While Gigapixel is great, Resolve's SuperScale does a pretty decent job for 1:2.

What algorithm does SuperScale use. When we have a time limit we use 2x SuperResolutionXBR with 5 frames (Upscale SD to higher than HD) and Spline36 (to downscale to 1080p). It's nowhere near the (superslow) AI gigapixel quality.
