But I still argue for separating Volume for Source and Timeline Viewers.
Audio adjustments made to clips in a timeline, or to whole tracks, don't apply to the Source Viewer, so different volume levels for Source and Timeline are often necessary, and constantly changing the one Volume control is a PITA.
How BMD implements the feature is incidental to me. Trying to work with Resolve at 1080 is also a PITA, so 1440 seems a good minimum for them to adopt. But again, this is incidental. Choosing between Source and Timeline with a right click or drop down on the one Volume control would suffice.
