I understand but I'm trying to say that, if you used an external image texture file (like a jpg or tiff) in Fusion360, you can re-import that file from disk via the Fusion loader node and connect it to the material you got from loading the FBX. You don't have to be able to export the image texture from Fusion360. Anyway, Fusion FBX loader doesn't only support FBX, you can try other 3D formats (there is a drop down list of file types in the requester where you select which FBX scene to load).
Note that you cannot directly transfer all of the material features of one program into another...some may pass through, but generally you'd have to redo the material in Fusion again.
I worked with .obj and .fbx and .abc files from Maya and Wings3D, if this helps. Alembic worked well with animation but sucked at transfering materials and textures.
