Today NVIDIA released Gaming Driver version 441.66. In the release notes is this statement:
Fixed Issues in this Release
[Resolve]: The application may crash during timeline playback when using Blackmagic RAW CODEC media. [2753421]
Perhaps someone who is using a recent NVIDIA driver because of requirements of another application and working around the BRAW-freezing/crashing issue by turning off GPU decoding of BRAW could give this a try. As I don't have that requirement I'm going to stick with Studio driver 431.86 for now.
Edited to add: NVIDIA dropped the other shoe, releasing the Studio driver 441.66. I ran a quick test with 9x BRAW clips playing security-camera style at the same time, no crash.
