[Fix] Camera tracker 'Solve' enters infinite loop

PostFri Jan 03, 2020 10:42 pm

When doing a basic camera track in prep for 3D work, if Resolve can't get a good Solve, it just starts again at zero. That's fine, presumably it's retrying with some parameters changed. But unfortunately hitting Cancel on the Solve dialog doesn't exit. The only way to stop the Solve is to force-quit, which kinda sucks if you didn't remember to save recently. A fix would be very much appreciated.

Resolve 16.1.2.026
OSX 10.15.2

Thanks,

Mark.

Having the same issue! And yes, 'Cancel' button does not work either.

Very annoying to have to force quit. Would greatly appreciate a fix, thank you!

Well you can always hit escape button and it will cancel but I haven't been able to solve a camera with any settings changed.
I have tracked drone footage before with great success but this time I will have to planar I guess...

Chris, any chance you can show us the footage, so we can help you better?

I don't think it is footage related... As I said I have done this before with great success... The only thing changed from last time is the version of resolve Image

I am having this exact problem as well. No changes in behavior when disabling "Use GPU" on the node, still just hangs and doesn't even appear to attempt to start auto-tracking. Any further operations prompt the popup asking to cancel the render, but the render never cancels. The only way back to normal operation is to kill resolve and restart.

Below are specs:

Davinci Resolve Studio 17.4.2 (Build 9)
Windows 10 Pro 20H2
NVidia 3090 (driver version 496.13)
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
96 GB Memory

The starting media for the Fusion clip in this case is another timeline, if that perhaps could be making a difference. The original source footage from that timeline is from the Pocket 4K.
