Manage cacheClip and free space

PostMon Jan 06, 2020 11:30 pm

I got catch twice with no space on my SSD and the cacheClip with more more than 60gigabytes, mostly of previous day1s projetcts.
Is it possible (in the case isn't already there) to be able to automatically delete these old cacheclips, to avoid getting out of space, and potencially corrupting the files?

Under the Playback menu.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

You can delete old contents if you’re finished with the projects. If you’re seeing a current project, Resolve may just regenerate the cache.

I got that, what I'm asking is to davinci be able to detect it's taking the whole disk and start to delete old cache.

Otherwise when it reach the disk limit, it will say "DaVinci Resolve failed to save project 'xxxxx'", even after you clean up the disk, clearly a bug. And then you can't close Davinci, because when you try to close it's keeps giving the same error. The only solution is to kill the proccess. Please Blackmagic, make davinci more reliable.

Cache won't be deleted automatically. Nor should it. If you find yourself constantly running out of room on the Cache drive, then it's probably best to get a larger drive for the Cache.
