Hi,
I have some TV recording that is originally an AVI file. My goal is to cut out all the parts of the recording that is not the movie, like commercials. I use Resolve 16.2 on macOS Catalina.
As Resolve cannot open the AVI directly I use VLC to convert it to an mp4 file by copying the video and audio content. This gives an mp4 file with H.264 video and MP3 audio. However if I open this in Resolve it insists on an AAC audio track - what is not there and thus silent.
If I use VLC to convert the audio track of the video to AAC, it works. And if I use VLC to export only the audio to some MP3 file, this file can be opened in Resolve as well.
Is there something I'm missing?
Cheers
