Black Screen from UltraStudio Min Recorder to MacBook Pro

I just purchased the UltraStudio Mini Recorder and have had NO success sending video from the UltraStudio Mini Recorder (HDMI) to my MacBook Pro 2016 (Catalina). I have tested all cables, and tried connecting a Nikon Z6 camera and a Canon Vixia HF G50 camcorder with NO success.

I am able to select the UtraStudio Mini Recorder device in the Apple Quicktime app and the BM Media Express app. However, I only receive the black screen.

My Set-up:
MacBook Pro 16 (MacOS 10.15.3)
BM Desktop Video 11.5 software install
Apple Thunderbolt Cable w/ Apple Thunderbolt to USB-C Adapter
Nikon Z6 Camera
Canon Vixia HF G50 camcorder

Do you have any troubleshooting advice for me?

This device only supports up to resolution and framerate of 1080i50/60 Both cameras you mention output by default 1080P50/60

Change your OUTPUT Resolution of the camera to 720P or 1080I

I have changed the Nikon Z6 HDMI output resolutions to 1080i and 720p. See image below.
I am still receiving the black screen.

I am having the same issue. BM Desktop Video sees the Mini Recorder and I can select HDMI. When I open quicktime or OBS or Google Hangout etc I just get a black screen.

Any thoughts or advice?

HDMI output on camera is set to 1080i. TC Output On, REC control ON, CTRL for HDMI ON.

Update: stopped working! I haven't been able to get this working again, 2x it worked, then it just would not...

Set to 720p, set up Intensity shuttle to 720p59.94, set up Blackmagic desktop video setup to 720p59.94, then turn off the camera, wait a few seconds, turn it back on, and voila! Thank you for the help!

I hope Blackmagic makes it compatible soon.
