[HELP] Color Waveform Looks Really Weird - Video Included

PostThu Mar 26, 2020 11:40 pm

Hi there,
I have been working with resolve for about a month or so now and I recently updated from 16.1 to 16.2 and it has become really difficult to work with it right now.
Lots of glitches and crashes of the software along with this weird glitch in waveform scope! There are weird white lines inside the software which don't let me see graph properly. If I increase the shadows or push the graph above 512 I can see the waveform properly but otherwise I can't. Vecteroscope works just fine though.

Any help is greatly appreciated as color grading is one of the main things that I do with resolve and this makes it difficult! Thank you for your time!

Try turning of GPU scopes in Preferences
If that works check your GPU drivers

Hey there,

Thank you for replying, sorry for the late reply I got stuck with some work.

So, I think this may very well be the case as when I switched the it not use the GPU in preferences I could see the waveform monitor and it was reacting as it is supposed to. I have two important projects to render and upload in the next week so I will do that and then update the video card driver of the 5700 XT and report back here. Thank you for the help! :)

Alright, so I did what you asked me to do and updated the driver on the system unfortunately it seems like the problem has not resolved itself. If anything it got weirder with the update. I have made two small screen recordings of it.

Hey there,

I wanted to check back once again on this issue as it is still there. Is there anything that I can do from my side to fix this issue? Looking forward to hearing from you!

This happened to me (and some other users) on 13" MacBook Pro after the macOS update to 10.15.4. Anyway - from the "three dots" button above the Waveform set the quality to Low - this should help.

Do you have hardware scopes on? If so, turn it off.

Ohh wow! You sir are a real help! Thank you so much for this. Finally after ages I can see the waveform scope properly.

I hope they fix this glitch for the higher quality ones also as I am using a relatively new GPU (Sapphire Pulse RX5700 XT). But for the time-being this works like a charm!
