Switch multicam angle on multiple selected clips

PostSun Apr 26, 2020 2:07 pm

Being able to switch the camera angle for the selected clips on the timeline of Edit Page.

Currently, "switch camera angle" only works in one clip only when several are selected. I don't see the reason of this, as change the camera angle of a selection of clips at once is a big shortcut on quick editions.

The current design makes sense to me. There's no way to specify multiple options for multiple selections at the same time.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

It always happens on my workflow that I must select all audio clips in the timeline and set them to the cam with the shotgun mic.

Currently I must change the audio cam source clip by clip, as there is no chance to change them all at once by doing a selection.

+1 there needs to be a better way to route audio for multicam clips in general, I have been asking for multicam improvements for a while.

You don't have to cut audio. You can just cut the video of a Multicam.

Better yet. Leave usable audio out of the Multicam. Add it manually underneath. Makes it sooooo much easier to work with in Fairlight.

And to make that work flow easier...

@studio1492

You can do it for multiple clips: select the clips on the timeline, use the shortcut Alt + 1,2,3,4 or whatever camera angle / audio angle you want and all the clips should change. I don't know why right-click option doesn't work, undocumented feature is my guess.

I was trying the Alt + 1,2,3, or 4 trick but it didn't work. Then I found in the Clip Menu you can change the Multicam Angle. So I highlighted all the clips & it changed both the video angle & the audio angle. So in order to just change the audio I held Alt (Option) & just selected the audio tracks then went to Clip -> Multicam Swith -> Picked the correct audio angle. Hope this helps someone else.
