[quote="Eugenia Loli"]Hey, are we talking about Russian lenses over here? Weeeee....
I JUST received modded lenses by Iron Glass (MIR, Helios and Jupiter-9 lenses in various focal lengths), a new, Ukraine company. These have been disassembled, cleaned up, declicked the aperture, added an anamorphic aperture (I opted for a non-flare version, I dislike anamorphic flares but I love the stretched bokeh), assembled again, put a permanent EF mount on them, beautifully smooth aperture and focus gears, and universal hood that accepts 77mm filters. They come in a very nice case, as you can see there. Price: about $2k for all that work (it took them over a week to finish the manual work).
I haven't shot anything with them yet, since they just arrived, half an hour ago. Very excited for some anamorphic-looking footage soon (note: you only get the anamorphic bokeh if you shoot wide open, where the lens is rather soft -- filmic-enough for my taste though)
You wont be disappointed, I bought mine a few.years ago. I only had one issue with one of the lens in 3 years.
Doris.
