If you think Mini Pro backlight is too bright, please post

PostThu May 21, 2020 5:09 am

The brightness of the backlight is unacceptably bright, and it is dazzling in the actual operating environment. If it is a meeting place, it may be relatively bright, and the backlight is acceptable.
However, such as games, small performances, etc., this brightness is like a small Same stage lighting

If you agree, I hope you follow up, whether BMD can be solved by software
If it is a hardware problem, I have considered disassembling it and modifying it myself

Agreed. An adjustable brightness level would be wonderful.

A simple workaround: cut white sticky labels to the correct size and apply those to the seven large buttons. If still too bright, add a second or third layer - helps a lot!

Pretty clever, actually… I'll bet you could find Avery labels at that size, too

You could also add some ND film to,the underside of the button to knock down the bright light.

LightDims makes sheets of vinyl film for sticking on LEDs that are too bright.
They have precut shapes and large sheets. They come in various strengths including 100% blackout.
The 50-80% seems to be the right answer. They are US$6-$8 on Amazon. I use them on a bunch of different hardware.

Is the purpose of BMD doing this for other companies?

The scheme of using stickers is particularly unsightly, I would rather disassemble it to diy its brightness

Does BMD tell me whether I can dim him a little bit through a software upgrade in the future,
otherwise I will start to disassemble it and diy myself

Hi all
yes, far too bright!

I have the mini on my desk, aside my keyboard and mouse.

The problem is that my eyes have have to adjust to the different brightness levels of my monitors (one desktop and one MS surface) and the mini. The mini really pops out of the setup. I'd like to see an adjustment possibility via software.

Best,
Ueli
