ATEM Mini Pro connection to SSD

PostFri May 22, 2020 12:40 pm

I've just started using my new AMP. I've tried to connect a WD Blue 500Gb SSD which is housed in Sabrent enclosure. The disc connects successfully to my PC via USB 3 cable, but it is not detected by the AMP when connected with the USB C cable. Any help gratefully received!

Did you review the instructions on how to properly format a drive to be connected to the ATMP? As I recall requires NTFS or Apple's alternate to NTSF.

NTFS (which is the Windows default) is not one of the supported filesystems by the ATEM Mini Pro.

The drive needs to be formatted as either exFAT (works on both Windows or Mac) or HFS+ (Mac default). Formatting a drive for use with the ATEM Mini Pro is described starting on page 37 of the ATEM manual:

Thanks for all of the replies. I have tried both format types - still no response from the drive. The USB C out is clearly working as it connects the Mini Pro to my computer. Presumably the USB C out provides 5V to the SSD, or do I need a separate power supply for it? This isn't mentioned in the IFU for the AMP.

Sorted! I bought a USB C to USB A cable to plug into the hub, and now the SSD is detected. Thanks for replies to date.
