Both cards in. Starting out with force reboot of monitor after black screen but pc started normally during black screen. After driver install full system freeze force reboot. No picture during boot force monitor reboot. Standard driver settings both GPUs are used 5-70% . 4K very loud . I do not care about the noise :-) stability number, one performance number 2 ..... noise number 10.:-)

Result is ........ 1201

This was with latest drivers

Latest result: details

The dual Radeon VII have improved stability in resolve :-) but for me the rtx 2080 is faster because of the h.265 hw encode decoder.

To bad all h.265 hw encoders produce medio core quality compared to software encoders.

100% Agree the difference huge. :-) quality of the hw encoder is just taking too many shortcuts.

Quick test youtube 4k quicktime simple cut and run :-) dual Radeon vii on gopro h.265 to a ram disk.: mgpu set to on.
native h264 : 4.25 useless quality
Amd h254 : 5.33 useless quality
Amd h265 : 4.51 useless quality

Nvidia single card:
Native h264 : 4.19 useless quality
Nvidia h264 : 2.55 not too bad but not usable
Nvidia h265 : 3.38 not too bad but not usable

None of the renders are any good in the gray sky . Do not know why right now. Crap on crap ends up in crap :-)
A little confused they were SO bad.

Can you please give your results to the Candle Benchmark test (66 nodes) with your Dual Radeon VII in OpenCL?

Ok I will see what I can do. Just running the h265 master full quality on the rtx there is only a nvidia option it is 20 cou% and 99 % GPU. Same clip super quality btw it is a 59,94 FPS. It took 4.24 min.

13 FPS on rtx 2080 super 66 nodes playback
I just linked and played no issues.

Dual Radeon VII 2 FPS at first restart very choppy playback I media.
Same result 2 frames playback 24 cores on 15% total util on cpu is 6%. The gpu are both 49-45% load.
Mgpu on off 3-4 frames. 66 nodes

Single gpu scope 14-15 FPS gpu up to 99% load. The other gpu is 6-13 %.
Changed the gpu to the other clean 14 FPS the non display card is 0% load. The primary card is 99% load 3685 mb of vram.

The Radeon skips frames in edit an trans edit modes.

The problem is the work load distribution in e.g blender each cpu works on a seperate task. In Resolve they work on the same part together with a massive overhead through the pcie bus.

The same Dual Radeon VII configuration on Metal give more than 24 fps (not 4 fps).

Resolve should be able to devide the load then. There is no crossfire workload on mac So each gpu gets its own work unit mabe?

I tested the latest pro and gaming driver versions. They are/seem stabel and there is no black screens. Stilll no speed up with 2, but with 2 the load of the gpu is 10-30 % and very silent 26-80 watt.

[quote="SylvestCorp"]Agree. My point is two radeon vii will never, except on mac, be a good solution since they made specific features for this in the pro version.

I was completly wrong !!!!!! latest gaming drivers mgpu set to on. In resolve deselect the none display card.
Could anyone confirm the Candelmark 15-17 FPS 66 nodes with dual "Radeon VII" some driver improvements have already helped the non pro card.

puget system benchmark results are absolutely massive:

Can you please give your results to the Candle Benchmark test (66 nodes) with your Dual Radeon VII in OpenCL?

I just ran with the latest driver 15-17 FPS latest resolve latest Radeon VII game drivers 2x Radeon VII. Can you confirm my results ? mgpu set to on and the non display card deselected in resolve.

I already have 15 fps on the 66 node Benchmark test with the old 19.11.3 drivers on Windows. But with a single GPU enabled in Resolve only. Both enabled give 4 fps.

It's still very far from the results by Metal.

I reach 20 fps with both Radeon VII enabled on Linux.

I am working with UHD CinemaDng clips and BRAW, Would I be better off with the RTX 2080 Super or the Radeon Vll?
