ATEM MINI PRO: Live broadcast to Microsoft Stream?

PostFri May 08, 2020 5:31 pm

I have just ordered my new ATEM MINI PRO, and I realize that our company prefer live broadcasting using Microsoft Stream. Is that possible in a similar way as for Facebook and Youtube?

I have been using an Atem Mini with Microsoft Teams, Webex and Zoom. The USB-C port gives a webcam output with audio to my MacbookPro. In MS Teams, Webex or Zoom I select the webcam and audio inputs as Blackmagic from the options menu. So it work works on the Atem Mini and should work with the Pro.

The question I have is what to do when you’d like to use the USB-C port on the Atem Mini Pro to record the stream... is there a way to have a live webcam feed from the USB-C at the same time by going trough a hub or is there a way to use the Network port to get a webcam feed to the computer?

I am looking at getting the Atem Mini Pro for its multi view, currently using the HDMI out yo re it’s the sessions on an external recorder but that will not be an option when using multi view on the pro meaning the only way to record is trough the USB C port but then what do you do to get a webcam feed for conference software like Zoom or MS Teams?

No to both questions. The USB/C is either a webcam or a program feed out, not both. That said, you can stream via the Ethernet on the Mini Pro.

Can you elaborate on the supported streaming platforms. I fail to find details and your answer suggest it does support Microsoft Stream?

Thanks

Has anyone figured out the Streaming.xml settings that work with Microsoft Stream? I keep trying different options but nothing works... Microsoft recommends separate audio? But none of the settings I've seen have an audio tag... If you get it to work please paste your xml in - I'll do the same.

Here (as referred to in the other thread) is my XML. Remember also to set your video settings in the ATEM to 1080p30. The URL will be supplied by Stream so replace it with yours...

Hi everybody !

I'm trying to edit the streaming.xml to use the Atem with MS Streams, but it seems I'm doing wrong (on mac with text edit).

Would someone share it's streaming.xml configured for streams ? Tks !
