If you keep them in a sealed Pelican case you should put some silica-gel packets in there. The problem with airtight cases is that they'll trap any moisture that was in the ambient air. Silica gel should dry that out; you'll want to refresh the packets (either with new ones or by drying out the existing ones in a low oven) periodically.
The only other thing about pelicans is that they are of course dark inside, and darkness is one of the factors that can promote fungus. So keeping the interior air dry is extra important. Some people leave their lenses in clear glass cabinets with their lens caps off. For cameras (to prevent fungus on sensors) a dry cabinet is probably a better idea. As for the West Coast, it depends of course where you are...some places are drier than others!
