It's a continue of that theme viewtopic.php?f=21&t=101253&p=643555#p643555

2 Dmitry
My project settings:
Color management: YRGB/rec.709-A
Film is rec.709 one.

My changes:
1. Add cst node as Input Color Space: rec.709/Input Gamma: use timeline
Output Color Space: REDWideGamutRGB
Output Gamma: RED Log3G10
2. Add an adjustment node.
3. Add cst node as Input Color Space: REDWideGamutRGB/Input Gamma: RED Log3G10
Output Color Space: rec.709/Output Gamma: use timeline
4. go to adjustment node and change lightness with gain tool up. Be watch that waveform across upper border.

What I do not right, Dmitry?

Ok, from your random explanation i see that you up-convert Rec709 source to Log and adjust Gain in Log gamma:
Rec709/Rec.709-A to RWG/Log3G10 -> Gain -> RWG/Log3G10 to Rec709/Rec709 Luma and Saturation Mapping turned ON

What did you expect of this? If you don't like Log3G10 Log curve response, change Log3G10 to ACEScct in both CST nodes. Different Log curves provide slightly different response for tools:

Rec709/Rec.709-A to RWG/ACEScct -> Gain -> RWG/ACEScct to Rec709/Rec709 Luma and Saturation Mapping turned ON

Also note that if your source is Rec709 or sRGB gamma it is mathematically not possible to convert it back to real Log gamma without data loss and edit exact same as original Log source. Upscalng 8 bit sRGB image source to wide color space and Log gamma usually produce banding and posterization. So in most cases it is better to edit these sources inside sRGB gamma and sRGB color space.

Keep your source in 12 bit RAW or in 10 bit Log gamma.

A mild correction of light. Waveform zone of light to compress in front of upper border but not across (aces), as in yrgb one. And curves in resolve works only with mouse or overpriced (for me) control panels. I don't make money with video.

There's not that effect in cct with red one variant.
Perhaps, my English is worst, that I can explain something.

>Rec709/Rec.709-A to RWG/Log3G10 -> Gain -> RWG/Log3G10 to Rec709/Rec709 Luma and Saturation Mapping turned ON

that manipulation just to kill all blue and green hue diapasone. Had recheck it several times.

I messed up and my English can't give a right info for explain my target idea.

Perhaps left go back to fcpx with a simple rec.709 and 3d lut creator as color correction tool.

Excuse me, that I's spammed here. Sorry and thank you, that you help me. Really.
