Fan noise with UltraStudio HD Mini or 4K Mini

Can anyone comment on fan noise with the UltraStudio HD Mini and/or the 4K Mini? I want to use one in a live music performance situation. I recently got a Hyperdeck Studio Mini and the fan was super noisy and I had to swap it out for a Noctua. I've heard the UltraStudio 4K Mini is very quiet but not sure about the HD Mini which is really all I need. Thanks.

I don’t recommend doing this, for obvious reasons, but I simply unplugged the fan connector on my UltraStudio HD Mini. It’s been running without a fan 24/7 for about a year I think. No issues at all.

I wouldn’t do it on a 4K though, 4K devices tend to generate much more heat.

Really interested in this too...where did you read that the 4K mini is very quiet?

Roger, do you use it only for output or also for input? How is it with the fan plugged? Is it so noisy?

I don't use the input regularly, but it works fine when I tested it.

The fan noise might be fine depending on where you can place the device. I have it below the monitors on a shelf that elevates the monitors above the desk. The shelf hums slightly from the fan and I just preferred it turned off.
