Can I use 14500 batteries of 2300mAh 3.7V to power a Nucleus

PostTue Jul 28, 2020 5:31 pm

Hello, I want to get spare batteries for my nucleus wheel. But in Europe, I can not find the stock one that comes with the wheel from Tilta.

However, I found the same type (14500), with the same voltage of 3.7V except they are 2300mAh and not 800mAh.

As far as I know, that wont affect the power delivered to the wheel (it can only accept 5V) but should last longer, am I right ?

Thanks for your replies :D

Correct. the same voltage but the bigger 'ahm' means it last longer.

I bought several before I got the right ones - finally had to write to Tilta and ask them which ones to buy! Some brands are a tiny bit longer than the ones they used in the controller, believe it or not.

They said to order these:

EBL 14500 3.7V 800mAh Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries & Charger for Flashlight

off ebay! ha!

I bought them in a 4-pack and they work well.

I think they were shipped out of California, but the they're undoubtedly Chinese made, so hopefully there's an EU vendor.
