Stand alone hardware RTMP decoder

Can anyone recommend a RTMP stand alone hardware deocoder which can be used with the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro when live streaming point to point /peer to peer via the Internet?

I believe the DataVideo NVD-30 (HDMI version) or NVD-35 (SDI version) can probably do this as it is capable of operating as an RTMP server, receiving and outputting the incoming video stream.

I have never tried it with the ATEM Mini Pro's streaming encoder specifically, but it seems like it might work (DataVideo also makes their own streaming encoder boxes that can be paired with their decoders).

I know that Teradek has several hardware streaming decoders for facilitating point-to-point transmission, but I don't think these are capable of operating as an RTMP server and instead would typically use a more point-to-point oriented protocol like RTP/RTSP.

AWS is already starting to phase out RTMP, with a complete drop on Dec 31 2020. Wonder how long long before others including YouTube follow suit, and how long before BMD comes up with a better streaming plan for the Minis. It's all soft, seems like they could have at least as many options in there as a typical $100 eBay box...

Ahh .. I was badly recognized question .. Atem MINI PRO need server .. It can only stream to RTMP server ..

As a RTMP decoder im using Rasberry PI .. $30 dude with free software (im using raspbian and omxplayer) ..

To be clear, this is only AWS Cloudfront - their CDN - that is discontinuing support for RTMP, however this is because RTMP playback in the browser pretty much requires the flash player, which is being EoL'd on that date. Going forward, incoming RTMP streams will require transcoding to more modern formats (with browser support) like HLS / DASH for use with Cloudfront.

This doesn't mean there is an end date for using RTMP with AWS resources. And I'd be amazed if it's even in the likes of YouTube's planning to remove support for RTMP as an incoming video format.

you can probably build one with a raspi4, those things are software based anyways

I was looking for a combination of a streaming encoder and stand alone hardware decoder and thought I would be able to use the Blackmagic Mini Pro with a third party decoder. The decoding must be done by the hardware alone i.e. no PC involved.

In addition to the DataVideo NVD-30 I mentioned earlier, it looks like the Magewell Pro Convert H26x to HDMI converter may also be able to do this, as the specs say that it supports both RTMP Pull and RTMP Push (which is what the the ATEM Mini Pro does).

This Magewell decoder unit is relatively new, an HD version was introduced in January and a 4K version was announced just this month:

Very useful to know about the Datavideo NVD-35 decoder. We've just invested in the Garanin Apps RTMP server software for $600, which gives you up to 16 channels of incoming RTMP streams on one PC or Mac. They also do an SRT version. It's a very easy-to-use server and has been rock solid. There's a very easy to use GUI, with minimal set-up time. Importantly, they given the option to use a Proxy server, so you don't need to contend with venue internet Firewalls and Ports.

The big advantage for us is that each decoded channel provides an NDI out to send to our NewTek Tricaster, or SDI feeds elsewhere for say live screens/projection etc.

The PC version also offers the opportunity to have up 16x SDI outs, via appropriate I/O cards.

But RTMP need server ..
