Would a USB-C to HDMI dongle provide an additional HDMI output?
No, this won't work unfortunately. USB-C to HDMI output adapters make use of the USB Alternate Mode specifications:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB-C#Alt ... ificationsWith USB-C Alt Mode, the device is effectively sending an HDMI video stream over some of the wires in the USB connector. Which means that device itself needs to support whatever USB-C Alt Mode (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) the connected adapter is using.
All of the USB-C Alt Mode profiles are optional parts of the USB specification and I don't believe that the ATEM Mini supports any of them.
Note that the USB webcam output from the ATEM Mini works in a totally different way. For the USB webcam output to work, it must be connected to a computer which acts as the USB Host (while the ATEM Mini becomes the USB Device end). The ATEM Mini then operates as a USB Video Class (UVC) device providing a compressed video stream to the computer. The USB Video Class specifications have been around for a long time (since 2003) which is why at this point most major computer operating systems have built-in support for UVC devices such as USB webcams or the ATEM Mini.
