Sony a7S III & BRAW

PostFri Jul 31, 2020 3:22 pm

My understanding is that the new Sony a7S III is outputting 16-bit RAW via HDMI, and it's up to the recorder to interpret that into a "usable" raw codec. We've seen the Video Assist line of products add external BRAW to 3rd party cameras (Panasonic, Sigma, etc). Is there anything to announce for the Sony a7S III?

I believe BRAW encoding is effected within the recording device. That said, have you contacted SONY on this matter?
