Media Storage should recognize folders with dot in name

PostFri Aug 21, 2020 7:13 pm

We often indicate what is contained in a folder of image sequences by appending what looks like an extension to the folder name. For instance /v01.denoise.exr/ and /v01.denoise.jpg/. These folders cannot be browsed using Resolve's Media Storage pane, as it thinks they are single-frame images instead of folders.

Resolve should always recognize a folder as a folder instead of trying to handle one with an unconventional name as an image.

That is weird.

For now, an underscore works.

I imagine if you named folders like this it would wreak havoc all over the place, since a period is the standard delimiter between filename and file extension. Generally I try to avoid any symbols and even spaces in filenames and folders, especially if they will be shared with other people on various systems using who knows what apps.
