BMCC RAW vs Proress samples

PostTue Sep 25, 2012 1:42 pm

Hi, does any body have RAW vs Proress samples shot on BMCC on line?
It would be great to compare the two and see what to expect from each codec.

These are exiting times o be a film maker!
Thank you in advance!

So whats the general consensus? Is there much difference in latitude by shooting in raw compared to prores? Or is the only benefit of raw the ability to change the white balance?

Hi Eric, can you please direct me? I have not seen samples of raw and proress of the same shots, here or any where.

Thank you.

+1 I haven't seen any side by side comparisons either between Raw and prores.

Just a small correction by the way. It's ProRes, not Proress. ;)

I shot the original footage using ProRes 422 (HQ) with the camera in “film” mode. The ProRes shots were edited in FCPx and then XML exported to Resolve, Graded and then exported to 264, before uploading to Vimeo
