GEN 5 Color Science

PostSat Sep 12, 2020 12:56 pm

Hey Blackmagicians!

Love the new flat curve of the GEN 5 Color Science!

Can and will this be IMPLEMENTED in the Pocket 6K/4K?

Does somebody has a technical answer to that? Would be nice to just have that in CAM already.

I believe that anything shot in BRAW can use Gen 5 Color science. It's Resolve side, not a camera thing.

Where do you access the Gen 5 setting in Resolve? I'm using 16.2.6 and color management tools/LUTs only go up to gen 4.

Ahh. That's the slightly annoying thing. You need Resolve 16.3 Beta, not the non-beta branch (16.2.X).

It's confusing, but I'm sure there will be a large announcement when Gen 5 Color science comes out of beta.

That is correct. The only place you can currently access Gen 5 is within the Camera Raw tab. No LUT, RCM, or CST as of Resolve Studio 16.3, soon perhaps.

Good Luck
