Hello knowledgeable forum members!
I am posting here in hopes of having some people help me make a more informed buying decision.
I have been doing some very amateur video editing on my own PC. Mostly cuts, adding text, occasionally some fusion titles. We would like to take our editing game a little further in the future with more complex stuff but this for now.
I am helping my friend build a PC so that he can edit videos for the channel too. We want to edit mostly 1080p 60fps footage from .MP4 format using Windows 10. We would like to have a smooth editing experience but dont mind a little bit of stutter here and there. We just dont want it to be frustrating to work with.
I have some decent knowledge about computers but I dont consider myself an expert by any means especially when it comes to video editing. So I have attached a screenshot of a potential build that I made on PCPartPicker. If you want the link or have any questions you can DM me or reply here!
I am looking to answer a few questions.
1. Is this sufficient for our amateur editing needs?
2. Is there anything in excess? I would like to trim the fat if possible to reduce the price of the build.
3. Are there other things you would recommend? For example, I read something along the lines of that Davinci Resolve relies heavily on CUDA cores in the GPU so we want as many of those as possible(This might not be true, I'm just giving an example of some sort of specialized knowledge that can help.). I just wanna make sure I'm not missing anything crucial or helpful.
Thank you for reading and especially thank you to anyone who can help! I am very grateful for your assistance! You are helping me a lot
