The Intel graphics driver has not changed.

My last suggestion is to remove the Intel graphics driver with DDU. Details in the link below:

Thanks, we removed the device driver through device manager and that did the trick.

I hope it's not too late to jump on this train but I cannot get Resolve to start anymore. It was working fine and then later that day it refuses to start. I've gone through and tried a lot of the self help stuff but I had no luck. Would love some guidance on this.

Same issue as above. Your Intel graphics driver was updated on 11-2, and that's causing the issue.

This Intel driver problem keeps coming up.

I thought I'd post this from an earlier thread where you said:-

I haven't tried it yet but am guessing one only has to go back one version. Do you think Dwaine, one still needs to use DDU? Won't this kill the monitor?

PS. I am still running on the new driver but I have not closed Resolve since getting it to work. Too nervous until I finish my current job!

PPS. What is odd, to me anyway, is that the driver I have currently is not even listed on that Intel site.

Having the same issue since yesterday. Booted my system today and Resolve keeps crashing everytime at splashscreen. Reinstalled Resolve, updated graphics card driver - no effect, still crashing.

First thing to try: Remove ALL USB devices from you system, including Bluetooth dongles and audio devices and headsets. Leave only a standard wired USB keyboard and mouse connected. Does that help?

I had an issue with the audio driver. Removed the Nahimic service in order to keep my redshift renderengine preview window working. Meanwhile I reinstalled the driver an only disabled the service. Now Resolve starts AND Redshift is working properly. So the problem obviously was caused by the missing audio service.
Seems strange to me, that this isn't stated in the logfile.

Yes, Nahimic is known to interfere with Resolve. Re-reading your NFO, I see that is loaded. Sorry I missed that. It's normally one of the first things I look for on an MSI system, which almost always has that installed. Looks like its spreading to other system types,

No, Resolve quit working as soon as I DEinstalled the Driver. REinstalling and thus getting Nahimic service back on my machine brought Resolve back to live.

Now it opens up sometimes but also won't let me open any projects. Please help!

But nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions? It usually opens up and starts the loading screen but then closes immediately after.

Believe it or don't, I go on vacation once in a while.

@Jolyn: without a .NFO file, hard to tell for sure, but almost certainly you don't have a current NVIDIA driver installed for your GTX 1060 GPU. Update the driver. Use the NVIDIA Driver Downloads site. When you run the driver installer, select Custom - Clean Install.

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here.

If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

Just installed the program. I did everything that this video told me to do and still will not startup
Scott Ficthter's Youtube video gave me to do and it will still not start up.

Zip the .NFO file. And if that's larger than 1MB, you still won't be able to attach it.

Your NVIDIA 378.66 driver is VERY old. You need to update that.

Go to the NVIDIA Driver Download site and enter your GPU type (GTX 960M) and OS type (Windows 10 64 bit) and it should provide a link to the current 460.79 driver. Download and install that.

When you run the NVIDIA driver installer, select Custom install type, then do a Clean install.

I was able to get it on my desktop, but how do I open it with System information?

Saving the Resolve logs and opening System Information are 2 different steps.

Once you've saved the Resolve log, then you open System Information and select File - Save to save the .NFO file.

When I go to save, it asks me to search for a file to save. It doesn't let me open the log.

Once you've opened System Information, and after you select File - Save, it opens a Save As window.

In the File Name area of the Save As window, give it a file name, like my_nfo, or whatever you want to call it. Then click Save.

I got a .NFO file saved. It just looks like my computer specs, is that right? I tried to upload it online & it shows up as an audio file...

I uninstalled and reinstalled Resolve. I have also attached a picture showing both displays plugged into my graphics card. nothing it plugged into the onboard graphics, please see next post for graphic card picture
