Configuring OBS for Atem Mini Pro over network

PostThu Nov 19, 2020 9:26 pm

Newb here. I've connected my Mini Pro to my network and ATEM Software Control sees and interacts with it. I'm trying to get the Mini Pro to stream into OBS so I can use the OBS output as a "camera." I create a new scene in OBS and a new source for it, but when I configure the source, nothing with ATEM or Blackmagic appears in the device list. What am I doing wrong? Does this only work over the USB connection? If so, I thought one of the advantages of the Pro over the plain Mini was that you could send video over the network and use the USB port to record your stream to an SSD (not an option if you're using the port for streaming).

As an aside, if I try to stream the Mini Pro output directly to Zoom (over the network), it doesn't show up in Zoom's device list either. Same problem?

Thanks for any tips.

I believe so. You don't stream into OBS, you use the Mini Pro as a 'camera' and stream from OBS.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Also correct. You would record as well as stream from OBS.
