Fusion Studio on macOS

PostFri Nov 20, 2020 4:03 am

Hi,

I'm on macOS Catalina and I'm wondering if there's any Fusion user who works on macOS and willing to share their experience?

I tried the free version but it seemed quite unstable (it might have been Catalina compatibility issue, to be fair) and I experienced a few weird issues (I couldn't make smooth text, whatever I tried the edges were always jagged, this issue happened on Mojave as well).

Anyway, I'd love to have a stable and reliable tool but my previous experience isn't really encouraging, and evaluation isn't possible, as far as I can tell.

Thanks in advance,
Imre

I can't speak to stability on Mac, but the low-quality text sounds like you need to turn on High Quality mode. To the right of the time controls, there are several buttons, one of which is HiQ. Make sure that one is lit in order to turn on anti-aliasing in the Viewer.

The quality mode has no effect on a final render, but it does speed up performance very slightly. Not enough, in my opinion, to turn it off, usually, but in some versions of Fusion it's off by default.

Hi Bryan,

Yep, that's it!
I checked everything in the node but missed the obvious...

Thanks,
Imre
