Silent Install - MSI or Switches

PostThu Jan 07, 2021 10:27 am

Hi there,

Attempting to install this program silently on several machines but not able to do this via CMD very well. I can get Da Vinci Panels or Keyboard installed after successfully extracting the MSI but the full program won't install.

Full aim is to add the program to SCCM for a fully automatic install.

I've managed to get hold of the MSI files from AppData\Local\Temp on install and moved to there own folder.

Running MsiExec.exe /i "c:\temp\resolveinstaller.msi" /qn appears to succeed looking at the logs in temp when running this but no program shows as installed and no indication its actually done anything.

Odd results via SCCM installing via DaVinci_Resolve_16.2.8_Windows.exe /i /q

Results in the program installing correctly, Keyboards, Panels and I can see Resolve installing in Program Files but the program doesn't register via Add/Remove programs and it doesn't show in the start menu.

Breaking down to the MSI files gives better results but means more management and configuration.

Another issue is that installing via MSI then attempting to run the full .exe file doesn't allow you to overwrite the install (newer version installed)

Hi There,
Did you have any luck with the MSI installer or the EXE installer? I am having the same issue.

Hi there,
Try this after extracted the files.

SetupResolve.exe /q /nosplash
msiexec.exe /i "ResolveInstaller.msi" ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qn

I also need the Resolveinstaller.msi file but can not find it.
I need it for software deployment with GPO.

hi @bunnyMSI

Are they two separate commands or is it one command?

Hi,

for me following code worked:
Code: Select all
DaVinci_Resolve_18.0.1_Windows.exe /i /q /noreboot

I let SCCM request a reboot afterwards, just no user can complain he didn't know...

Only extra work, you have to copy shortcuts for Blackmagic Proxy Generator Lite and DaVinci Resolve to all users Startmenu. It's only created for the installing user. RAW Player and Control Panels are already in All Users Startmenu. looks like a bug.
