Remote control of another ATEM via the ATEM streaming bridge

PostTue Jan 12, 2021 10:09 am

Can I double check myself.

I am sure that it was possible to take remote control of another ATEM device in a remote location when connected to a ATEM streaming bridge. So that you could for example take control over the angles and transitions etc all via the connection with the streaming bridge.

Actually as I type I’m thinking it’s probably not possible that way but I’m sure I heard that you could not only receive the feed but also take control too. I guess if not then you’d need a vpn or something separate to achieve this?

Many thanks and apologies if this is a silly question.

The streaming bridge just receives video and doesn't do more than needed to maintain that stream.

The ATEM mini pro can be controlled over a network, but the bridge doesn't play any part in this. As you say a VPN may be useful.

Suggest you look at threads like https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=118929 which discusses pitfalls.

Thanks for your reply TIm!

Really appreciate your input and I'll look into the VPN option.
