Has anyone successfully used a 3rd-party external USB interface to feed 5.1 straight out of the Fairlight DAW in DaVinci Resolve? I have a requirement to do this from a laptop version, i.e. without the accelerator card and SX-interface in circuit, which would be a more static set-up in the studio. It's a client request for a fast, mobile set-up. Candidates would seem to include Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 USB Audio Interface, 3rd Gen at one end of the price range (£380 GBP) and the Apogee Quartet USB Audio Interface at the other (£1,220GBP) - that's quite a price span! (Definitely space for a Blackmagic product imho.)
