Angelbird CFast 2.0 record ability

PostTue Feb 23, 2021 9:58 am

Hi all,

This is in relation to my on going thread regarding the URSA 12K and it dropping frames.
I thought it might be better to start a new thread after receiving some great info from some of the forum users.

My main question is:
With regards to using the Angelbird Cfast 2.0 cards, in this example let's use 2x 512GB cards, to be used in dual record mode. Are you able to record till the cards are full? Regardless of the resolution, compression etc. Just so long as the data rate is supported? Or do they cap out after a few minutes of recording?
My main concern is going down the route of Cfast cards, and then we're faced with dropped frames.
Again, let me state, we don't expect to record anything higher/more demanding than the cards in dual mode can maintain. We're just wanting to know if you're able to record till the cards are full?

I can test this this weekend. My guess is that if the data rate is sufficient, you can record until you fill the cards.

That would be greatly appreciated! I understand that it’s time consuming and a big ask. But if you could, that would be a great help!

Does anyone know what the max data rate available is when recording in dual mode with the Angelbird CFast cards? Is there a way to test the maximum limit at all?
