Tethering iPhone 8+ to ATEM Mini Pro

Hey I installed the update to the ATEM and plugged my iphone 8+ in through usb-c to lightning cable. I have hotspot turned on as well. I am unable to get the little phone icon on my multiview out and stream with my cellphone data. Any advice to fix this?

Does it ask for a "trust this device" pincode after plugin in the USB-c lightning cable?

Try disabling "wifi" and "bluetooth" via "settings" not via the quick "control settings". Than disable / enable personal hotspot and replug cable. Than it may ask for USB only tethering or USB / WIFI / BT.

Offtopic: Not near our own "atem mini pro " because of lent out, but could you check to see which downscaled resolutions &framerates and bitrates it support right now? Grant petty mentions 240p...

UPDATE:
The product video mentions changing framerate to 24p to limit bandwith which is not a new feature, I mistakenly took that for resolution 240p...

Once I get it set up I can let you know about the framerates and resolutions.

Really looking forward to test with our iphone8 when the unit is back, but before that keep us updated with your progress.

no I don't have the fingerprint thing activated.

Is the tethering working for you on a PC/Mac with USB at all? We still run IOS 13 on the iphone8 because it tethers with a USB-router using Openwrt.

Between IOS 13 and 14 apple changed some undocumented stuff to the protocoll so all Linux based distro's could not tether anymore with IOS 14 phones after a decade of perfectly fine work.
Some background info on non Windows/MacOS iphone tethering, it is fixed BTW:

Could you hint which downscaled resolutions, framerates and or bitrates are possible? Like is it possible to stream 1080p60/50 camera's to 720p30/25 1,5Mbit or 480p/576p?

well you learn something new everyday. Always figured LTE was the same as 4G. Gotta go pick up a different SIM card.

I tried to stream with an iPhone 6 Plus using an USB C adapter, but it didn't work.

It is a bit surprising that this brilliant ATEM Mini update does not create the attention it deserves. I guess we're all occupied with other things in our life. But streaming directly from the Mini Pro using a smartphone (yes, what about Android phones?) is in my opinion quite a change.

most of the cheap chinese cables are only charging cables
a USB-C to x data cable is necessary!

for iphone the cable delivered with is the right one or buy from apple
some android cables are not data cables

I tried to stream with an iPhone 6 Plus using an USB C adapter, but it didn't work.

I just tried with a iPhone 6 (non plus IOS 12.49) with the Apple USB-C-Lightning cable from iPhone 11 and I just streamed to youtube as in it works for me. We did disconnect the RJ45 ethernet plug, and offcourse on the iPhone make sure you have mobiledata tethering with usb enabled! Just try it the tethering first on a macbook / pc and see if the BLUE connections status bar turns up on te iPhone.

Also check if you have explicitly 4G and not 3G/LTE as it seems the topic starter needed an new SIM card...

So I ended up getting an iphone 12 that came with a usb-c to lightning cable as well. This actually worked. I tried the old cord I had and it didnt work.

Turns out the original usb-c to lightning cable wasn't allowing the data stream, even though it is an official apple cable. Very strange.

I got the Apple USB C - Lightning cable and tried to connect the ATEM Mini Pro to the iPhone 6+, and now it hangs at ‘trust this computer/enter device passcode’, which is not possible to enter.

Obviously there is a worksround. Can someone tell me how it is done?

Edit: the passcode is the iPhone device passcode, not a code that would appear on the computer screen as I was assuming. Now it’s clear to me, now it works.
