DNxHR color range

PostThu Mar 25, 2021 10:31 am

Hello,

When rendering video MPEG-4: Color space: YUV, Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0, Bit depth: 8 bits,
Image

in MOV DNxHR (for processing in another program) the color range is changed
Image

in MOV H264, the color range does not change

What settings of DaVinci Resolve need to be changed so that rendering to DNxHR format does not change the color range?

Thanks.

Two ideas.

1. Don't use QuickTime. It's often a problem on this front. Use MP4 and MXF instead. They just work.

2. Take a look at your Video/Data level settings.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
