Quicktime is format of all my imported clips

PostSun Mar 28, 2021 4:06 pm

Pretty new to Resolve and still setting up preferences, etc. I notice that when I am importing my video clips they show as quicktime format. The source clips are all MP4 and include 8k c-log and 4-k c-log files from Canon R5.

Is there an option for the format to be MP4? (looks like davinci resolve doesn't recognize MP4?)

Should I be using some other format? Not sure quicktime is still supported under windows, is it?

Running Resolve Studio 16.2, CPU is AMD Ryzen9 5900x, 128GB RAM, 2x RTX3090 GPUs, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The MP4 format is an offshoot of QuickTime. What you're seeing is normal and can be safely ignored.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
