Resolve 17 crashes when attempting to rename sequence

I was hoping this was just a beta issue with 17, but in the official release I still have the following problem...

Anytime I duplicate a sequence, then click on it to rename it, Resolve either immediately crashes OR beachballs.

I am on a M1 Mac Mini.

After I force quit and restart Resolve, IF I rename the new sequence as the first action I do, I can make it work.

Also just tried in yesterdays 17.1 update with same results.


Any thoughts?

FYI I have isolated the issue to my use of the Alex Audio Butler plugin. When I remove the plugin from all sequences in the project...no more crashes.

I had the same with DR17.2 and Alex Audio Butler v1-2 installed and active on Mac mini M1 16Gb. When selecting timeline, either a freeze or a beachball, sometimes not. When I managed to open a timeline and tried to export it, crash. When retrying to export crash at different % in the export process. Sometimes it took me 6 retries to get a full export.

Too many problems and crashes with this plugin at the moment. AAB has a friendly support but not sure if they can solve these issues soon. @Adam.Boozer dis you contact AAB support?

Deactivate the Alex Audio Butler plugin and your DR17.2 works like a charm.

Any recommendations for a similar plugin that works would be appreciated.

It should be possible to do the work without any plug-ins, Anthony. One just needs to know audio.

Towards that end, BMD have provided us with some training materials. There's a book just for Fairlight.

I have contacted Alex Audio Butler and made them aware...they are working on an update.
