On Camera Monitor and Microconverter

I recently purchased a Viltrox on-camera monitor for one of my cameras. The monitor has an HDMI output and I am running that into a Blackmagic HDMI to SDI Micro Converter 3G and the SDI output from the Micro Converter runs into a BlackMagic Ultrastudio Recorder 3G. The image I get from the recorder shows white dots all over the feed. However, when I just get the HDMI output straight from the camera into the micro converter it works perfect. Has anyone had this problem or know what could be the issue?

Sounds like your monitor is not doing a proper passthrough of the signal.
Can you reverse the chain, and go from the recorder to the monitor?
