Using Nikon G lenses on Black Magic 6K

PostSun Apr 04, 2021 8:11 pm

I'm wondering if we have an adapter that will allow me to use my Nikon AF-G lenses on Black Magic pocket cameras. It will be a dream if I can use my Nikon 70-200, 24-70, 35, and 20f1.8 on my Black Magic 6k pro.

There is a wide range of Nikon(G) to M43 adapters with Aperture control and some with or without the focal reducing lens. Do a quick search on Amazon, Viltrox, etc.

I use Sigma zooms and vintage primes with Nikon mount with my P4K. I find these lenses at least 1/3 cheaper for the EF mount equivalent.

(for P4k Users) I suggest you get one adapter with the lens and one without so you have in effect doubled your lenses!

I'm looking for Nikon G lenses to Canon EF mount for my 6k pro.

I found FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter with Generation v10 Focus Confirmation Chip for Nikon F-Mount, G-Type Lens to Canon EF or EF-S Mount Camera.

So far it is doing the job. It allows me to adjust the aperture but it does not show the aperture value. Using my histogram to adjust.

The Novoflex Adapters are probably hard to beat. The lenses sit very tight and the f-stop lever is smooth. I have four of theese on my G Zooms.

Sadly im not aware of any adapter that would transfer lens Data.
