HELP: HDMI problem with new Video Assist 12G

PostWed Apr 07, 2021 4:58 pm

Just got two new Video Assist 12G HDR the 7" version, but one of them just will not show proper image, mostly no image at all, or some white/grey "noise", sometimes I can get some kind of image but only on DNxHR and only sometimes. No problems with same signal to my Ninja V or other VA, not to mention my Feelworld monitor.

Video of the problem:

Running HDMI in from my Sony camera, but same issue when on Panasonic or connected to my PC. Have tried 1080p, 4k, 60, 30, 25fps, 8bit, 10bit, 422, 444, several different HDMI cables, and same problem. Don't have SDI to test. On power supply.

Recording seems fine, running HMDI out to another monitor recorder is also fine.

Is this something I can fix myself, or do I need to send it back for RMA?

Anybody have idea if I can fix this, or if I should just get it exchanged.

If the recording and the pass-through are fine, that would seem to be a display fault or perhaps just a loose connection. Call your vendor or regional BMD Support for an exchange or repair.
