Re-use matte compositions in Fusion page

PostSat Apr 10, 2021 10:12 am

Hi! I am using Davinci Resolve Studio 17.1 build 24 and I am trying to figure out a way to reuse a Fusion matte.

I have a recurring shot where two computer monitors need a screen replacement. There is an actor working on these monitors, the monitors are green and the shot is static.

What I do now is I choose the base layer (the monitors with the actor working on them) and the shots that will be embedded in the monitors >>> create a Fusion comp >>> key out the green from the screens >>> corner pin the shots in the monitors and blur them a bit so they match.

Is there a way to "copy-paste" or otherwise streamline this process so I won't have to do this every time?

Thank you

Select the appropriate nodes, Copy/Paste.

(You'll have to connect things up after Paste.)
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Thanks for the reply.

I also realised you can copy the node structure and everything by middle clicking the appropriate clip on the Clips panel, just like when copying grades in the Colour tab.
