Spline Editor for Parameter with Expression

PostThu Apr 15, 2021 7:44 pm

I noticed that there's no curve in the Spline Editor for a parameter whose value is set with SimpleExpression.

Is this normal? If so, is there a way to smooth the curve for such as a parameter?

An expression doesn't make keyframes, so there's nothing to smooth. Unless you wanted to add a smoothing operation to the expression itself, but that's probably needlessly complicated.

I suggest you bake the animation to keyframes, Reduce Points, then smooth that. Install the Eyeon Legacy scripts from Reactor and use the Bake Animation toolscript from there. The one that ships with Fusion itself doesn't work. To use a Tool script, right-click on the node you want to run it on, and point to Script > [script name]. In the Spline editor, Reduce Points is found in the right-click context menu when you have keyframes selected.

And this is the fourth time this topic has come up this week. Weird.
