Resolve Studio 17.1 starts faster...

PostFri Apr 16, 2021 12:14 pm

... for updates for the NVIDIA Studio driver and the latest Windows 10 updates!
Just performed both updates, then restarted the PC twice and then called Resolve Studio Version 17.1 -> start faster than before! The waiting time after the spash screen is also much shorter than before ...
Can anyone else watch this?
Regards
Oliver

In your signature you have 461.72
Are you talking about the ones published two days ago 462.31?

Because I have the 461.40, I don't have too much problems with it and I'm a bit scared to update it :?

On my 3900x, RTX 3080 and Resolve on an nVME ssd, the start of Resolve is so slow. It makes me want to try the new drivers if you tell us it's faster.

It looks promising! : https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2021/04/1 ... tc-apr-14/

The April 2021 NVIDIA Studio Driver, released today, supports the latest creator software and new optimal settings for creative applications throughout the NVIDIA Studio ecosystem.

Latest Creative App Updates with the April NVIDIA Studio Driver
For years, NVIDIA’s PC desktop application GeForce Experience has optimized a video game’s settings to help users get the most out of their hardware.

Starting today, GeForce Experience now optimizes creative applications like Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Lightroom by automatically enabling GPU acceleration in these apps. This ensures artists are using the maximum GPU acceleration available, just by clicking a single button. Stay tuned for Quadro Experience support coming next week.

Edit:
I installed it, can't see a difference :(
The "looking for control surface" takes so long for me

Sorry - Yes from NVIDIA Studio Version 462.31 from April 14th, 2021 (improve my signature soon).
Before the Windows and NVIDIA update, there was a long wait after the splash screen (4-5 seconds) until the project manager started. Now this takes 1-2 seconds.
Don't get me wrong - that's not a "problem" - I'm happy about it, I'm just amazed!
Regards
Oliver

from 25 seconds after the splash screen disappears, to 5 seconds.

Im on latest windows 10 and latest NVIDIA drivers

The first run at morning:
Splash Screen 55 seconds

After click on project manager 12 seconds to reach the UI. (I have very small database)

My Davinci Resolve takes 1m49s to startup to UI
Sometimes less, sometimes more.
Rest of the day its 54-59 seconds.

My premiere Pro takes 7 -9 seconds
My Lightworks take 2 - 3 seconds

I can only see degradation off speed after drivers and windows update. Can't understand what happened but now my PC can't handle with 4K25p with temporal noise reduction turned on. Before used many nodes, masks etc. Now CPU and GPU usage is tiny but I have only 14-15 fps (no difference performance mode set to automatic or disabled)! Shocked!
Also takes 2-3 second to switch from Edit to Color page... The UI became slow as a hell!!!

UPD.!!
After manually selecting CUDA in settings and unchecking GPU selection Auto checkbox everything starts work great as it was before. Very strange update of nVidia drivers!!!
