SnorriCam for BMPCC6K

PostSat Apr 17, 2021 10:25 am

I am interested to buy SnorriCam which can holds not less than 4kg.
On internet i found only Glide Gear SNC 100 for purchasing, but it can hold only 1.4kg, which is not relevant for me
I know majority filmmakers use DIY system, but i don't like that idea too much.
Did anyone used BMPCC6K on Snorricam?

Looking those I have to wonder that they do not use any kind of counter weights. Counter weights on other side of the body would make it much easier to carry and and reduce shakes, but maybe the shakes are wanted, anyway it would provide a way to control the amount of shakes.

With handheld jib someting a bit similar, but it gives more freedom to move the camera. Would though not work with 4 kg camera

This is closest I have tried on the category you request, it would reguire some DIY to attach the camera and requires one hand to control the camera position.

Well, this was kind of SnorriCam, gimbal on monopod the other end on vibration damper that was under the feet and that was very good thing or the hole system would have gone over board.

I learned to hold into something with the free hand when on moving boat :)

After short googling it looks like some level of DIY will be reguired for 4 kg payload. ;)

But interesting to see if some one has a solution.

I think the biggest challenge is to find a vest that fits the talent well and is comfortable to wear, especially with 4 kg payload. The camera vest I am demonstrating above has some adjustability, but I have not got it really to fit, now looking after long time to it, and will do some pending of the metal parts to get it finally to fit.

Thanks for research, honestly i did it before posting as well, but it seems that ideal solution for heavier payload i couldn't find.

This is the link for 1.4kg payload vest https://bhpho.to/3n1n41w

You know what's is interesting, in this snorricam shots compilation i feel that they dont use vest, system holds camera in other way, which i prefer the most.

This is the most promising I could find, it has more solid connection between front and back plate and counterweight, just like I would do it.

Yes, and it looks expensive too, but that is how it should look for 4 Kg payload.

BTW, based on last names of founders, that seems to be the actual SnorriCam

I purchased the glide gear one to use with my pocket 4K, it’s very plastic and really is suited for smaller cameras. I stripped off my cage and everything and it was still a bit too heavy. I got the shot I wanted, but I had to extremely tighten the vest on the talent. It’s also hard to get a wider angle shot without seeing the vest.

I have talked with them by email and they told me that they soon will announce SnorriCam PRO system for purchasing, which is awesome news.
